Tolleson has coached D-line for Texas for 13 years and was an original member of Mack Brown's Texas staff.
He has coached such players as Casey Hampton, Shaun Rogers, Marcus Tubbs, Roy Miller, Rodrique Wright, Lamaar Houston and Kheeston Randall.

Tolle did a pretty good job with the DT's. Not real surprising though. Gonna see some real WM style coaches coming in now. Gonna be very interesting.

Will Mack and WM look in Jeffcoat's direction and would he join the staff? I assume he would want to work with his son.

How is Jeffcoat regarded when it comes to the actual coaching aspect of the job?

You know, of all of the coaching changes expected, this is the one I wanted the least.
We have been a force at DT as long as he's been here. Between having to fight Shipp @ OU for recruits, delivering during the games and having guys show up in the NFL ready to play, he's done fine.
Shame to lose him.

Great job Coach Tolly. You leave with your head high and with honor. At no time did you fail to carry your weight, or poach your salary. Your position group was coached as well as any for the entire time. The new blood that your replacement brings will be welcome, and it probably is the right time. If any coach of the exiting coaches deserve a soft landing, its you. I harbor only good feelings and memories of your service and presence in the program.

There is a rumor that Jeffcoat is not going to return to coach at Houston. Put him in at DT coach, give him the Dallas area to recruit, which also gives him more chances to run by the house to see momma and if he's as good as I think he might be you make him DC when Will moves to HC.

And I absolutely agree that he was always 100%. He helped a lot of kids make a lot of money.

I would like to see Giles coach the entire DL and then allow us some more flexibility with the rest of our coaching. Perhaps a LB coach that also is the special teams guru. Maybe even a special teams exclusive coach (don't know if any college does this).

Bo Davis - Alabama (experience w/ Muschamp)
Terry Price - Ole Miss (originally from Beaumont, experience w/ Muschamp)
Tracy Rocker - Auburn
Randy Shannon - Miami (could be DT or LB w/ special teams and Muschamp becomes coordinator solely)
Jim Jeffcoat - Houston (former Cowboy; dad of Jackson)
As others have mentioned, the spot will be interesting for Mack Brown and Will Muschamp.
Do they replace Tolly at DT, or do they have Giles coach the entire DL, which is what most schools do? And if Giles coaches the DL, then do they hire a LB coach and have Muschamp solely take on the role of DC/HCIW?
If they do that, then who has special teams?

The last several DT classes have absolutely killed us. Some of it bad luck, some of it flat out misses. Not sure how much he's responsible for. But the two kids out of his area (El Paso) recently were big misses. Overall he's certainly been a credit to UT and from their public comments in the past I'm sure the players are sorry if he's leaving.

He was out to see MJ McFarland earlier in the week. McFarland's dad said there was no talk of retirement at that time.

Here is another DL name. Tim Cross - Minnesota.
Former Denver area HS coach. Had known Mack Brown through Mad Dog and others through the years, then took the assistant S&C job at Texas in 2001. Left in 2005 to go with Greg Robinson to Syracuse, then with Brewster to Minnesota.
