  • Childish is the word that comes to mind with this. He has Mike, Jaxon, and Marquise (who finally showed up) in front of him and he's most definitely not better than them. Cayleb is going to be a great receiver, but he needs development and that comes with practice. Mr. Jones needs to realize that his son is a true frosh behind two all-american caliber receivers.

    If I'm Mack Brown I'm having a conversation tomorrow with Mr. Jones and there would be a pretty good chance Cayleb would never play at UT again.

    Agreed...Cayleb is a good player and has potential to be excellent for Texas...but this entitlement bullshit has to end and one of the ways Mack ends it is to get these idiot parents out of the picture....now.

    That being said, one of the reasons this idiot dad twittered that crap is because Mack has allowed that kind of crap in the past...

    Mack, don't allow this crap anymore...either Robert gets his shit together or Cayleb is gone...IMHO.

    Agreed. No freshman should expect playing time. Not when you have 3 talented, more experienced receivers on the team.

  • I heard this at the OU, TCU, and tonight as I have sat in close proximity to the Jones family. He's not the only parent though, the others just haven't taken it to twitter yet.

  • I'm excited about Cayleb. He's a real competitor and is ready to get out there and make his mark. I understand why Jones is frustrated, but he needs to realize the situation right now. Goodwin is a senior and has proven that he can do a lot of things well. Davis and Shipley are Juniors and Sophomores and are two of the best in the Big 12.

    This was a HUGE game for UT and the first for the brand new offensive coordinator (Applewhite) in his new role. We needed our experienced guys to carry us for this one. Robert's a smart guy and he had to have noticed the difference between Harsin's tempo and Major's in the 2nd half.

    Cayleb's time will come --- if Robert and Cayleb want it too. I can tell that Cayleb had A LOT of animosity towards Harsin by his twitter responses when it was announced that Harsin was leaving. I guess there are two directions this could go... 1.) they can celebrate with the team and build towards Cayleb's bright future... or 2.) they can get with Mack and work out a transfer situation.

    For me, as a fan, Cayleb is one of the most exciting freshmens on our team and I hope for #1... but if it's #2, I love me some Major Applewhite and what I saw from that offense in the second half.
