    To your house..................huh

I have room but you have to be invited. And he is not likely to be invited nor does he need to. Parents are doing well apparently. In any case you totally missed the facetiousness of the post. Did it go over your head?

Yeah, between the Golden Boy and the Legacy he was always going to be odd man out. Even if he wasn't the long-term future, he's as athletic as Ash. I never understood why he wasn't given the opportunity to run the "Ash package" early in the year and take over the whole shebang when Gilbert imploded.

Well . . . he wasnt able to take over when Gilbert imploded because he was in Colorado.

  • Had he been given the Ash package I think he never transfers and Ash gets to redshirt.

  • FWIW - we never reported this but Texas contemplated Webb but decided not to pursue following spring ball.

Had he been as effective as Ash, he probably would have been given the Ash package... unless we're now going to assert that Ash being ahead of Wood was politically motivated. He may not have been given a fair shake here, but then again, he just got beat out by a Kansas flameout despite having an entire spring and first half of the summer to himself up there to take charge of the position. It's not really a wonder to me why he didn't make it at Texas.

We should have run at Crist for a one season bridge

Fair point. I just think the drop off in the QB run game from Ash to Wood was probably not enough to justify burning Ash's redshirt. I just think that out of the 4 QBs on the roster in summer 2011, I would have held onto Wood above McCoy.

Except for the whole offering him a scholarship as a quarterback thing...

    Disagree. Crist is horrible.

That's fine and all, but I have pretty good sources on this one.

Yes, and your post implied that he wasn't given a fair chance at Texas and he isn't being given a fair chance at CU, but it is more of a fair chance than he was given at Texas. So my point stands.

False. You said he would only feel it was fair if he was named the starter. Well, he is not the starter but feels he was given a chance at it. Your point falls flat on its face.

He was absurdly raw in HS. The competition was awful, so his arm was never tested. He could run by, through, around, over, and under every single team he played, which often times hinders dual threat QBs' progress as a thrower IMO.

    Wait a sec...wait a sec...

    That kinda sounds like...(gulp)....

Well then please explain it to me.

Here's what you typed. "I have the sense that the only time he will feel that he was given a "fair chance" will be when he is named the starter."

Here's what I typed. "You said he would only feel it was fair if he was named the starter. Well, he is not the starter but feels he was given a chance at it."

Here's some facts: Wood was not named the starter. Wood feels he was given a fair chance.

Explain what I've missed. I'm happy to learn.

I wish he would have stayed at Texas and competed, but I guarantee you he doesn't expect anything to fall in his lap or be handed to him. He knows he has to earn it and isn't scared of that. I think he feels that he is being given more of a "fair chance" to earn it at CU than he was given at UT.
