Bohls on Vince, Ced, Roy

  • Bohls has some sobering thoughts on 3 Longhorn legends, 3 of my favorites of all time. I still think Vince is the best all time Longhorn given what he did, but hasn't been able to overcome Jeff Fischer, frankly. I'm hoping each one gets their act together maturity-wise and gets another shot.

Don't think the story is finished for Vince. His record as a starter speaks for itself..............Roy is a hell of an athlete but Roy Williams just doesn't play well when it counts and really never did at UT............

Ced has too many off the field issues...........he had them at Texas and in HS. He is not a character guy. He needs to play for a coach like Belichick but I wonder if either would consider it............I thought the story was fair.

  • Someone will pick up Ced. He's been a steady producer the last few years. Vince will get another shot, but he's probably going to have to settle for a backup role. If he ever gets another starting gig and fails, that will probably be a wrap. I would not surprised if nobody signs Roy. He's just never lived up to his potential and is in physical decline due to age.

  • Sometimes I wonder how Bohls didn't wind up at A&M. There's just something that doesn't feel quite right about the way he communicates his perspectives.

What off the field issues did he have in high school? I went to Midland Lee with him and don't remember any until college.

While I often don't think Bohls is fair to Texas, in this case I agree with you...for each it's either put up or you're out of the League.

I remember the day he committed to Texas I was in West Texas..............there was more than one story about his drug use in HS. I was told the police, because of his value to the team, just overlooked it. Its one of those things where, in a court of law, could I prove it? No but the old saying where there is smoke........................for me his actions in college and after tell me there was probably something to the HS stories.............

  • For the first time I agree on all points with Bohls.

Unfortunately, the article was fair. I don't think he was out-of-bounds on anything he said about all 3 players.

  • I think he sold Benson a little short, he's averaged over 1000 yards and 6-7 td's the last 3 years on a crappy to mediocre Bengals team. He's a horse. I agree that Roy has been a punchline for years.

It doesn't look too good for VY at the moment, he looked pretty bad in backup duty last year, and that was with one of the best qb coaches in the game.
