Bobby Petrino Accident Update...Expected To Be Fired?

    Her perception is all that matters. If she believed that sex was a condition of employment then Petrino and UA are screwed.

    and even if it weren't she could claim that and hire Gloria.

  • The obvious lesson here is if you are going to diddle your employee always drive a car or at the very least each drive a motorcycle. That way when one of you lays it down on the pavement the other can take off unseen.

    True, but she was just hired a week or so ago so if the university and Bobby can prove she was with him before the hire date and especially weeks before then she can't claim that. If indeed this is true then Bobby needs to start recalling every store, movie theater, restaurant, etc that he took her too and the university can see if they can elicit cooperation in getting video evidence. Phone records need to be turned over showing she was calling him weeks before, and all email or any traceable communication needs to be gathered.

    Confirmed...she is a subordinate working in the ARK football program...ESPN's Chris Low confirmed the woman was hired by Petrino for the job in the football program & is (was?) engaged to an asst coach (Dir of Operations) for the ARK Swimming/Diving team

    The more info comes out, the worse the gets for Petrino & the univ...only a matter of time before he's fired, IMO

  • and for a bit more serious post, Arkansas, in my mind, has no real choice. They have to fire Petrino. He did not admit to just one "inappropriate relationship" but to more than that. He admits to lying to his own athletic head guys about his situation and has not only made them look silly but has given real possibility to serious sexual harassment claims.

    plus he has made Arkansas look bad by having this kind of guy as their football coach. Recruiting is not going to be so easy for him when the moms show up at official visits to ask questions. We all praise Mack for the "family atmosphere" that he has created around the UT football team. Well do the athlete's families want this Petrino being responsible for their kids for this important period of their lives. Is his family the type they want their children involved with.

    some days like today I am even more happy that Mack is our head coach. I don't think of him as some morally perfect person, have no idea what he is like that way. But he has never given reason for us to be "not proud" of our University or our football team. (ok, ok, i wasn't so damn proud of 5-7 two years ago either)

  • The decision on whether to fire him or just suspend him will likely center around whether or not he was banging this gal while she was still a student at Arkansas (believe she graduated in December).

    If no, he gets suspended for a couple of games.
    If yes, he's gotta be gone.

    I doubt that plays a factor in the decision. She's 25 years old right? What difference does it make if she is a student?

    My point was that it would be highly unethical for him to do something like that, and just adds on to his already bad situation. It's the only thing that could come out at this point that would make the story sound worse.
