  • My problem with this thinking is that with this model there would almost never be a SEC vs Big12 matchup for the NC.

  • Bowlsby/Neinas/Dodds/Slive won't let that happen. Too much money in keeping that game separate from the playoff. Off course Scott and Delany want that set up b/c it guarantees their conferences, who are traditionally weaker, a place at the table every single year.

    This isn't the first rodeo for the Big 12 and the SEC and they won't be stupid enough to fall for this.

  • The only thing I care about is that they don't use voters. That's the system I want to see. All the four team talk will be a mess if we are still using polls.

    I think everything is posturing right now. I think the compromise will be a playoff limited to the top 6 with the the top 3 conference champions and 1 wildcard granted access. All neutral sites.

    I hear you. I just they would work to get 8 conferences and let all champs in. No votes needed and its an equal chance for every team in the nation. Win your conference and your in. Seed them by fg% or something. Anything but a popularity contest like we have now. Won't happen but that would leave fans with nothing to complain about. Want in the playoff win your conference. Is your conference tougher than others? Tough, that's what you wanted for money.

    Meh it sounds nice and makes is simple but Texas finishing 2nd is still an infinitely better team and much more worthy of qualifying for a playoff than the champion of the 4th - 8th conference.

    I like the top 6 model with conference champions. If there are 4 conference champions in the top 6 then it's easy. If not then it goes to the highest ranked non-conference winner and so on. This way is it values the regular season and schedule strength.

    I think you will have 4 major conferences and that will be the start of the playoffs. 4 conferences with the top teams will be better than 8.

  • See if that happens it will kill ooc games for those with enough stones to play them. i think 16 team conferences will suck.
