  • Few observations:

    1. Diggs over Byndom?? Hmmm.
    2. I will take Hopkins over Mason
    3. I like MB. I think he will be the best RB at Texas this yr, but I can not see him #1. Bergeron will get more TDs and it is a 3 headed monster. Barring injuries first team seems like a stretch

  • While Malcolm Brown being on the 1st team may seem odd, he's probably among the leading returning rushers in the Big XII, and when you consider how little he actually played as a true freshman last season, it begins to make a little sense (since this is a projection for 2012 after all).

  • I understand the logic for him, but I do not agree with it. I am not ready to agree yet, but Gray may turn out to be the go to guy as the season winds down. Just think about it. Texas will be lucky to rush it 45 times a game. That would bode very well for the season if that happened, though I think 5 per is a better barometer. 5 of those will be random constraint plays like jet sweeps or QB keeper. Leaves 40 carries for 3 guys. Going to be hard to average 15 carries. 5-6 yards per is not going to get you to 1000. I am not saying any of the 3 will not end up being one of the best RBs in the conference. I am saying I do not think they rack up the stats to be first team. Scouts will know, the media will blindly vote for 1000 yd rushers.

  • Edmond on 3rd team is really pretty amazing since he didn't play much last year. He will probably do better at the end with a good season.

    This is my biggest qualm. Not sure how you could put Diggs over Byndom at this point.

  • Yea, I think Byndom is the top corner in the league. Diggs is top 5, but I am surprised at how the media pays no attention to Byndom.

    Interesting that they don't even have a TE spot on the team.

  • Well, you have to actually know a little bit about football to evaluate cover corners. Thats why media guys typically over value INT totals and specials teams performance, because those are easy to see.
