Well, with me being a female I could not do the honors. Sorry guys, but it up to you. Although a female might be what she wants. Either way we could all chip in a lot of money and search 6th street and find someone to do the honors.

....................lost in the situation with Bryant and Major is there are spouses and kids. That is a point to remember.............in addition some of the "hearsay" posts ripping coaches character needs to stop. (Especially by the alphabet boys) I am surprised the mods haven't deleted some of the stuff I've seen on this thread.

The children are important. "The sins of the father's," not too sweet. Nice post, austinr.

She had a relationship with one of her players, not just a co Ed or co worker. I think what she is doing only incriminating her more.

You can add that once it was disclosed about her relationship with one of her players she was no longer capable of doing her job effectively. Other schools could negatively recruit against her and some parents would not Bev to coach their daughters. Bev slit her own throat.

  • Some members of the BOR is after Burgdorff because didn't skewer Powers in the investigation of the law school, completely unrelated any sports issues. Perry is going to get Powers. Sports issues just give him cover.

Me, too, except I have a really hard time drawing the parallels.

Let's see, that was said by Zara, the Moorish Queen taken captive by King Manuel, who has the hots for her, but she has the hots for another prisoner, who is hiding his identity and happens to be the son of a rival of Manuel and who had secretly married Manuel's daughter, so he rejects Zara, who gets pissed and uses her feminine wiles to get Manuel to order Alphonso's execution, but everything gets screwed up, Manuel orders his own execution, Zara commits suicide, and Alphonso and Almeria live happily ever after, sort of.

So that means Kearney is Zara, who was taken prisoner by Dodds, and Dodds is hot for her, so she will use Dodds to exact revenge on . . . No, that doesn't work.

Maybe Manuel is really Powers, and Kearney feels jilted by Dodds, so she's working on getting Powers to execute Dodds, but that would mean this is leading up to Kearney's professional suicide, Powers being removed from office, and Dodds and Plonsky (?) living happily ever after?

Well, it was entitled "The Mourning Bride: A Tragedy." Us still being stuck with Dodds and Plonsky would probably count.

Thanks JeezGuy. Your rejoinder to Silky triggered the explanation of Austinr's use of the Congreve quote in reference to Kearney. It was simply calling attention to all the "pants roles" in his Restoration plays. After all the only famous sports reference was to tennis. Oh crap, that was Elizabethan. Confusing Congreve with Shakespeare again.

It seemed obvious but I hate start rumors on a public forum. Where were you incarerated.

We need to take this back to discussing Restoration theater. It's off subject but only slightly off color. Usually only in the double entendre. Oh my god, what will you guys do with that?

  • Looks like there is some movement toward a discrimination suit.

Bev Kearney, ex-Texas Longhorns track coach, will claim discrimination - ESPN

Former Texas women's track coach Bev Kearney, who resigned Jan. 5 after disclosing she had an intimate relationship with an athlete in 2002, will announce the filing of an EEOC and Texas Workforce Commission discrimination charge, her attorney said.

  • "[The discrimination claim] will be investigated for 180 days before [we] have the right to sue," Howard (Kearney's attorney) said.

So the multi-millionaire lawyers representing Texas have 6 more months to find more info on Kearney before she can sue?

    Advantage Texas...

"This is the legal prerequisite to filing a discrimination lawsuit," lawyer Derek Howard said in a text message, "and it will specifically reference the [Major] Applewhite comparative scenario."

They'd better have more than that as ammo.

Yep. I don't think the rumors of his fling as being same gender are correct.
