Anyone know what the bad news is for the UT Athletic dept.?

  • Take it from a buckeye fan....someone posted something similar about Tressell....and we all saw how that played out.......Ive had nothing but good experience with longhorn fanbase so I wish ya the best...

  • The Barnes stuff is nothing new, he had an affair with a female staffer. Happens at every university in America, not sure there are many coaches having affairs with their athletes and lying about it.

  • It's nothing involving the NCAA, which is the biggest thing to worry about.

    Any type of sexual scandal or favoritism within the athletic department is just temporary embarrassment, if that. And those type of scandals happen in every industry these days, so it's not even that big.

    At worst, some administrators resign, perhaps some out of court settlements. It's not like UT can't get very qualified replacements for administrative positions.

  • Why does Bev Kearney have such animosity towards Texas and who are her advisers/lawyers? Having a relationship with one of your own players is reprehensible. I would think she would want to part gracefully rather than making herself more of a parish to a fanbase that, in my eyes, supported her through a lot. Sounds like she has a serious maturity issue and it's hard for me not to send bad thoughts her way ... tattle tail bitch.

    Right or wrong, Cleve Bryant's situation was handled completely different & he was given a job with Jim Bob Moffett once he left Texas...Kearney's situation was made public, fired, and UT let the world know she committed possible NCAA violations

    Not saying Kearney is right in this situation, not even close...but I'm trying to figure out who is right in this entire mess...the number of people that have made this situation worse is astounding

    ..................the more she reveals at some point the UT admistation says uncle and gives her more money? At this point she is not employable by another university. What is the saying...........Bev a few years ago was the toast of Austin. She was on track to be the Eddie Reese of Woman's Track.

    Guys, there are rumors. We have heard them. If true, they would be crippling to several athletic department members. Time will tell if they are substantiated or if they are rumors.

    ....................lost in the situation with Bryant and Major is there are spouses and kids. That is a point to remember.............in addition some of the "hearsay" posts ripping coaches character needs to stop. (Especially by the alphabet boys) I am surprised the mods haven't deleted some of the stuff I've seen on this thread.

    Ok, everybody should have known she was gonna come back swinging. She left angry and felt like she was treated wrong. Is her situation different? I dont know. That said, texas would have done well to pay her to go away, especially if they know they have other skeletons in the closet. Nothing stays private forever and now you guys have to deal with a womans skorn.

    I have heard that she lied about it and thats why she was treated differently. I have also heard that she is going to say she told somebody about it. Man, the offseason never fails to produce something..

    There is nothing more dangerous in this world than a man with nothing to lose.

    I agree with you. This stuff is spreading like a wild fire. Too many different stories and it is just creating he said she said crap. Just hope we get to the bottom if it and make the best decision for our University.

    It's not the worst thing in the world to start anew. You may think so at first, but it is very therapeutic to start climbing out of a major overhaul. Just wipe the slate clean and find some "Rock Star" coaches - soon you will be euphoric. Mack and Barnes will be distant memories.
    In little over a year Urban Meyer has Buckeye Nation absolutely giddy. Tressel who?
