His surgery may work against him going early. Essentially, he won't be a big part of the S&C program this off season. He will probably still have a good year in college ball but if he sticks around for his senior year......after a year of working with Bennie..... he'll have a great year and he'll be able to make some money. JMO.

Given that his dad was an NFL player, If he has a good year he'll go because his dad will point out you don't leave money on the table, something he might likely do if he stays. Sure, he MIGHT make more if he stayed around as a senior, isn't injured, has a monster year, is drafted in the first round to a bigger contract. OR, he takes good money after his junior year, gets paid earlier, gets to reneogiate his NFL deal a year sooner after his first contract is up, still scores huge, with less risk.

I would dispute the use of the word obviously here. I don't think he's a lock for the 1st round at all.
That's not to say he isn't a great player for us when healthy. He is. But he's not the physical specimen or demon off the edge that 1st round pass rushers are.
For reference, the last few 1st round DEs were Von Miller (3-4 OLB), Marcell Dareus (3-4 DE), Aldon Smith (3-4 OLB), JJ Watt (3-4 DE), Robert Quinn, Ryan Kerrigan, Adrian Clayborn, Cameron Jordan, etc. Or guys like Jason Pierre-Paul, Brian Orakpo.
