  • Quote from the article.

"Is David Ash really going to be the starting quarterback, or is Case McCoy – who was reinstated after violating team rules – ready to make a big move in spring ball?"

So they don't know who will be the starting QB for Texas yet they are ranking them 6.

  • I think they missed terribly on OSU and TCU

  • That is a complete joke. We're losing our top two defensive players, who will both be borderline first rounder NFL picks, on a putrid defense. We don't lose much on offense but we're not exactly returning a who's who of Big 12 talent.

Maybe, maybe, a 15-20 ranking going into the season is justified.

Being in the Top 10 is not a borderline first rounder which where most think Vaccaro is going.

  • We have 20 starters back....a qb who improved immensely during second session, legit kicker in fera, against a league that will be down save osu and tcu. Tjtow in 5 starting ol, 2 nfl caliber wrs, and a secondary thought to have two best cbs going into last season who are back and there you have you're answer.

On paper tx is legit title contender...too bad x's and o's get in macks way

I agree about TCU.................I think they could be the KSU team (this past season). They were the youngest team in NCAA football this past season and have an outstanding coach.

TCU for certain. They will be top 25 and probably much better than that.

I'll bet $300 OSU doesn't finish the year in the top 15. Combine a poor defense with a new OL and you've got 3-4 losses. TCU will be much better than OSU.

Hard to be against that offense, and I thought their defense was getting better later in the year. You could be right about the OL, we will see. Although, I think Wickline knows what he is doing. He's still there right?

They are returning three starters on the OL and the backups for the two they lose will be juniors this year.

With a new DC it will be interesting if OSU improves on that side of the ball. Does any team in the country have better depth at QB?

Wickline is a great coach, but even the last year, they couldn't protect the QB. Imo, losing Randle is the biggest loss. Smith is solid but randle & smith were great so it'll be interesting to see if he can handle being the every down back. Defensively I don't see how they were getting better, they lost two of their final three game, including giving up 51 to OU. All of their fans complained about Bill Young but he made their defense better than it historically has been. See the Arizona game for evidence of life without Young. If OU or Texas lost 5 games the year before, lost both coordinators and the biggest offensive playmaker would any of us be optimistic about the upcoming year and lobbying for a preseason top 15 team?

  • Papa, the comment which seemed to say McCoy might make a run at being a starter caused me to wonder about the article. Maybe he was just trying to fill space, but I dont know. Texas does have the talent to be a top 10 team. Lets see how it plays out.
