"And it's goodbye to A&M...": A picture's worth 1000 words

  • Gentlemen, tomorrow is a great day for all of us. After a century of having to take little brother with us wherever we go, we are finally free of his annoying presence. Don't get me wrong; he will continue to embarrass our great State on a regular basis, but he will do so in a new neighborhood, and we won't have to watch, in squeamish disgust, his juvenile antics, social awkwardness, or physical ineptitude.

That said, we all know the narrative aggy is trying to foist upon unwary buyers: "Those mean old Longhorns are scared to play us! Wah! The Big 12 is weak! Wah! SEC-SEC-SEC! WAH!!!!" This, despite the fact that Mack Brown has almost single-handedly caused the firing of their last 2 head coaches and athletic directors; despite the fact that, if they really wanted to ensure the rivalry continued, they needed only have maintained the status quo; despite the fact that their overall record against us, in all major sports, is laughably lopsided in our favor; and despite the fact that they've been the epitome of mediocrity in the supposedly "weak" Big 12.

With that in mind, I suggest each of us post a single photo that best sums up our feelings about aggy's imminent departure. No captions, no long, drawn-out farewells...just let the picture speak for you. Here's mine:

That's actually a sad picture. Is it really worth it to post a picture of a dog who's obviously been abused?

"Pavlov was this scientist guy, you know, and every time this dog would ring a bell, Pavlov would eat."

  • I get where you're coming from, but don't post shit like that. Post pics of moron aggies doing what they do best...being aggie.

Please replace the original picture. Thanks

  • Serious question. Why do people keep bringing up aggy? Yes, they were (and still are) a source of humor in many ways, but they are gone. History. Dead to the civilized world.

It's time to turn the page.

  • I keep clicking on this thread to see if ol' boy removed it. It's disgusting and gut wrenching to see.

  • Please remove this man....I have no issue with you bringing up the history and relevance of the tomorrow obviously, but the picture is really in bad taste and not something that belongs on this board IMO.

  • Sorry, guys. I just did a quick search for "scared dog" on Google images and put up the first one I found. Thanks for calling it to my attention...didn't realize that dog was actually an abused animal. It's been replaced.

  • It took my a few posts to figure out why everyone was bagging on a picture of a dog looking out from under a couch.

Nothing to indicate that dog is abused. My dog was always terrified of thunder, fireworks and loud music, and had the same reactions, hiding under the bed. Regardless she was treated like a queen. Maybe the poster adores his dog.

  • The concept of the thread is great, but perhaps a new thread should be created as this one will just cause confusion because of the original picture.

    I'll start it.
