An observation about LHN

Because they wanted it to be Texas' fault that a 100+ year rivalry broke up.

Uh yeah, one little catch there.... Is it just me or didn't Aggy try to continue the rivalry?

In the dream I had, it was DeLoss who ended the game.

  • I've gotta go beddy bye now, gotta pay some more taxes tomorrow. If you want to keep going, just imagine me reaching out of your screen and tussling your hair, because that's essentially what I've been doing.

  • Sure, an aggie said it, it must be true. And even if it was, it's actually a much worse narrative for them:

They had every chance to be a part of it, and chose not to. They took $20,000,000 that Texas got them and Texas got to keep it's third tier rights. It was a compromise for them not to have to go to the Pac. When those third tier rights turned into the Longhorn Network they cried like bitches and left. We should give up our network for those ungrateful pieces of shit because they don't get every single thing they want despite all we offered them? Fuck them. If it was the Longhorn Network that caused them to leave, then they are whining, crybaby, pieces of dog shit that I have no desire to ever be associated with again (as opposed to the lying, cheating, back stabbing, whining, crybaby, pieces of dog shit I have no desire to be associated with again).

Fuck it, I got work to do and Longhorn Extra to watch.

The fact that OUR conference has been shredded is not propaganda. Why hasn't ANY other conference experienced defections like ours? What is the common denominator? It's funny when Aggies say the LHN was the last straw, the LHN defenders say no, that's just propaganda. What? Is an Aggie not entitled to know why they left? Only a Longhorn knows what Aggie was thinking? That sounds like an attempt at propaganda to me.

Schedule quality - did any of you actually attend that snoozer on Thanksgiving day last year? What was THAT? A hollow and failed replacement for an A&M game. What a joke. The place was quiet and half empty, or so it felt.

The LHN was peddled heavily to recruits last year, but not this time around. That's because it is a running source of mockery now, and even recruits have caught on. I know a young man that visited 4 schools, including Texas. The only school that did not mention LHN was Texas! The others mentioned it as a mockery, and a way to minimize his exposure. LHN has done a 360 in one year's time as a selling point. UT plays it down. Rivals play it up.

Oklahoma and A&M (to name two) have increased exposure by signing some tier-3 content over to Fox, so now their little programs are on all the time.

Basketball is catching it worse than football. EVERY basketball game was on the tube until last year. Everybody at work would ask me WTH happened to UT hoops? Complete MIA!!

LHN is a source of mockery and jest in just about all quarters these days. It's a joke. Except Longhorns aren't laughing. They are either crying or defending it. And Joe Q. college football fan is decking out in maroon.

    My God you're a pussy...

  • Well I was discouraged to look at the last several profanity laced, juvenile posts.

I have been wasting my time with punks. Here I was, thinking I was working you guys, only discouraged to see that common guttersnipe was on the other end. So I lose, the time wasted was all mine.

    I feel like I need a shower.

My last post was profanity laced, but directed at aggies, which you claim to not be so you probably shouldn't be offended. I thought you were going to sleep. You have told people to shut up in this thread for not agreeing with your nonsensical position, you have said you are "tusseling my hair" but pointing out that aggies are ungrateful whining crybabies is juvenile?

How could you be working with us when you refuse to acknowledge the facts of the situation but instead stamp your feet and tell people to shut up?

Just spitballing here but I think the only reason Belmont wanted the LHN was for the money.

  • Let this be a lesson everybody.

It only takes one aggy to aggy up a thread. Take note.

Indeed, let this whole LHN thing be a lesson. You know what the lesson is.... You can apply this lesson in your own personal life as well.

Enjoy and appreciate your success, but don't OVERPLAY YOUR HAND.

  • Texas did not try to start a Big 12 network, and gave Kevin Weiberg no support when he brought up the topic.

That is internet folklore that was said enough that it became fact to many folks.

I wish we would have pushed for a conference network. We may still have had aggy and Nebraska in the conference and probably never would have missed any Texas football games because of the LHN.

    This poster gets it.

As soon as the conference started disintegrating, a small faction of UT apologists and aggressive revisionists started laying out this timeline of bogus events, all geared at clearing Texas of any culpability for the ruin of a once strong and brand-laden conference.

Again, Texas is the common denominator. Name one other conference with this type of fallout. None. ZERO.

The good thing is Texas is bigger than DeLoss Dodds. Once he is gone, Texas can repair itself in short order.
