Alex Okafor on not playing Texas A&M on Thanksgiving

  • When asked today about not playing the Aggies on Thursday, the senior defensive end had this to say:

    “I feel sorry for A&M,” Okafor said. “We still have a big-time game and they're missing out.”

    Really? Anyone not wearing burnt orange glasses would laugh at this. Maybe our players don't even remember what a "Big-Time" game is anymore.

  • Isn't he correct? Texas does have a big-time game (only college game on tv) and the Aggies are an afterthought the last two weekends of the season.

  • Texas has two big games coming up in TCU and K State. Aggy has 1-AA Sam Houston State and a Missouri team that never won anything in the Big 12 in their last two games. Okafor has it right.

    You think playing an FCS opponent in SHS and Missouri big games vs what Texas last two are? I don't believe a FBS has any business playing a FCS team period. Texas might play weak teams like NM or WY but UT doesn't play a scout team like a FCS even if they a top 3 FCS. aTm better watch out for the MO cats they still have something to play for 5/6 or at least a good way to go out.

Top 10 A&M will be playing a night game on espn, which many people will be tuning in to see what heisman frontrunner Johnny Manziel will do for his last shot to make his case for the first ever freshmen to win the award. A&M is riding a ton of momentum right now and is not regretting not having the thanksgiving day game with texas, this year anyways.

    The Ags should be ashamed of themselves, it's not about anything other than money to the Ags. Whom ran like like little girls when they thought they weren't getting paid enough for Texas to whip them. Texas ATM at the end if the day left, Texas didn't. I enjoyed rubbing the beating Texas gave to my co workers and friends, but all is gone.

    Yikes! When was the last time Texas played a ranked team on Thanksgiving? At least with TCU there is a chance of that happening. (And don't say that A&M is ranked this year. You know as well as I that you'd be sporting 4 losses by now if you were still in the Big 12).

    You have a point about Texas two yrs ago. The worst team Texas has fielded in 15 yrs. Right after Texas played in a National Champ game Texas lost to Alabama. Yes the team y'all beat two yrs later but wasn't a NCG. Btw when was the last time the Ags have played in one? Yep 1939 my father wasn't even alive, Hawaii and Alaska wasn't even a state att. Yeah all that's history but so is a rivalry game.

  • Okafor got caliag22 all stirred up. He's a lot noisier than the other ags were last year. I remember how quiet it was in College Station last year after Case broke off his run. All the Aggies were looking down at their feet because it was another second half collapse. They should rename Kyke Field to McCoy Field after the runs the McCoy brothers made on that turf.

    The Buffalos have tapped out period. Nebraska fits in the big 10, Mo fits in the bottom of whatever conference their in and A&M should've never left the Big 12.
