    I don't care about Aggy antics. Some of their antics point more to their inferiority complex than anything else. So I just pay it no mind.

    I remember the 80's. I believe Akers could have done so much more had he had the support of the DKR faithful. But after him we never had the right leader until Mack. If Texas has the right man in charge then Aggy success will not negativity affect us. I see Aggy having success and us not playing them being a big mistake. Hopefully we can get to a point where emotions and bitter feelings aren't a part of the decision process.

    I have to respectfully disagree. Didn't we already lose CB Maurice Smith to bama this year? I just read this on Demetrious Knox,

    "Knox said he doesn't really have a set list of schools at the top, but that Alabama remains on top in the race for his services as of today.
    “Pretty much,” Knox said. “I just know that Alabama really stands out.”

    If a non-Texas sec team has this type of impact on a Texas recruit, imagine what a successful sec school from Texas would have. Mack will always recruit well, but if we start losing 2 ,3, 5, or 10 recruits a year, it will negatively impact our recruiting.

    It would do no good for us to play them. At best, we beat the heck out of them when they are the best in the SEC then what. We was able to beat the crap out of them in past already. Beating a team could not prove the supremacy of the other conference. At worst, we loose or have a close game to them when they are mediocre and suddenly everyone starts to say "oh, maybe UT is not as good as we thought them to be". And we would suffer more loss at recruiting.
    Remember, everything is cyclical, meaning you would have several mistakes in several years and suddenly you would become beatable again. So do we always able to beat them all the time? THe answer is not. Why feed them or anyone any idea about SEC is good!

    I will continue to ask this question until I get an answer. How was Miami and FSU bad for either school? Why cant/shouldn't the state of Texas have that in Texas and A&M?

    Also, if aggy becomes great it will be with players from the state of Texas, not because all of a sudden aggy starts raiding Louisiana, Florida, and the KKK states. That means they'll be great at the expense of us an the great players we have to get from this state. Wishing for your direct competition for top recruits in your own recruiting bed to succeed is like wishing for your rival competing business to succeed and drive you out of the market. Stupid.

    Precisely why we SHOULD play them. If Aggy is successful in the SEC and we don't play them they will be able to say they play in the best conference and we are scared to play them. I think playing and beating them will do so much more to keep our status as the top dog in state.

    No, they would not. I'm not saying I would either. Florida benefits from playing in a strong leauge though. It also didn't hurt them though when all 3 were nuclear powers.

    Yes, if we truly don't care about them leaving then why waste the energy to hate them, wish them failure or post pics of every stupid thing they do. There SHOULD be an attitude of indifference about them now if we really don't care. Just my opinion.

    I hated the way Aggy left as much as anyone, but I do respect the fact that they did what they felt was best for them. What is done is done. So can we let them go and move on? I find it hypocritical that many on here swear Aggy is obsessed with us yet every time I check the board there is a new post about Aggy's move. Let's be who we say we are and let them go. If I'm being completely honest I'm a little jealous that they get to play a SEC schedule. I know things are cyclical and the SEC will come down from the historic run they are on, but competing against Bama,LSU,Auburn,Tennessee,Georgia, and Florida will always be better than OK State,Kansas State,Tech and Baylor. I hope they can become a power is the SEC and rep the state of Texas football well. I hope they get so good that we have no choice but to play them yearly and we can have a rivalry like FSU/Miami in the early 90's.

    In my sports book, it's FAR worse to be ignored than hated, because hating someone requires some level of respect. Watching them bent over backwards trying to grab our attention is much more entertaining.
