wonder why Diaz played Gideon all year despite his horrific play. If Mykkele and Sheroid got more snaps last year we would be in better shape. 21 has really hurt this team for 4 years not to mention residual effect even after his departure. worst 4 year starter in history

Myk and Evans were not even close to ready to take snaps in a meaningful game as true freshman.

Isnt it getting a bit old using Gideon as a whipping boy? I personally think he deserves some credit that he doesnt get for playing all 4 years and starting 52 games as a starter. (2nd Most in School History)

Because Diaz likes a challenge and playing all of those other more seasoned and experienced DB's would have been too easy. Or maybe he likes failure and thought he would put in the worst possible safety to make sure his mission to fail was a success. Wait, I bet it was a directive from Mack because Gideon was such a great kid and his dad is a local HS coach that is a friend of the program. No, I bet Gideon has photos of women romancing each other at Mack's house with recruits present.

Amazing that you think Gideon had horrific play last year and that Mykkele and Sheroid would have been better. Manny Diaz, and Duane Akina, two of the best coaches in the country thought otherwise. They did see Gideon in every practice, every film, and every game. They darn sure wanted to win every game, that is for sure.
Lets's see -- hmm - should I believe you?
Naw, I think I will stick with what the best two coaches in the country thought rather than some no nobody on the internet. Go back to the aggy board.

What truth is that? While he was limited athletically he knew how to get other guys aligned correctly and that our other options were true freshman that didnt understand the concepts of the defense and with an entire year to sit and learn it are still struggling.
