The Texas Rangers have signed three-time All-Star pitcher Roy Oswalt to a minor-league contract, according to MLB.com. The move will mostly help the Rangers replace Neftali Feliz. Feliz went on the disabled list last week with a sprained right elbow.
Oswalt, 34, would need at least 2-4 weeks before he is ready to pitch in a game, according to the report. The Red Sox, Orioles, Phillies and Dodgers each showed interest in Oswalt over the past couple of months.
Oswalt went 9-10 with a 3.69 ERA last season with the Phillies. In 11 seasons with the Phillies and Houston Astros, Oswalt hasa a career record of 159-93 with a 3.21 ERA. He has won 20 games twice while with the Astros.

Rangers got a gamer who could really help out in the post season, IF he can stay healthy.
Roy's back has been a mess for 5+ years now, but maybe half a season off will help. Buy that man a tractor.
I love Roy O................for about 7 years I think he might have been the best pitcher in baseball.
