I took a 2 year contract with directv last summer, so I should be clear to go with the first provider that gets LHN.

I see what you did there!

Every major provider is involved in ongoing negotiations with ESPN/LHN.

That's a whole lot of lead in those butts.

I think we'll have it January. They've still not backed off of the original asking price and they're banking on customer frustration during football season. This is sort of a cooling off period as the network is not demanded much by subscribers during the off season. The sad part is,people are starting to realize that their negotiating tactics are to blame. Not the providers. This whole thing is a fiasco.

  • Found this after a little googling. I can't find any positive news about LHN and AT&T. Therefore I must down vote.

At this point there is nothing in the news about AT&T U-verse reaching an agreement with LHN.

Another year of missing a couple of football games, most of the non-conference basketball games, and the whole volleyball season.

    That is hardly encouraging news.

That's just my guess. I could be terribly wrong of course.

I know you work for another carrier or something, and wish I could say, or even knew more, but I just told my buddy about your statement and he said that is 100% inaccurate.

Some carriers have very different tactics with ESPN and various leverage points. ATT is very much further along than most others to the point where they have specific language as to target dates (he would not ellaborate as he knows I would run my mouth here). My buddy does all the media buying for Nike and Gatorade in the Southern Region (R3) and very much knows what is going on - he is a grad of McCombs, so he is vested in this and seems to know who and when to ask the right questions.

Now, I am not saying it is inevitable, or that is will even occur this year, or even to get your hopes up; but to brush it off so easily is not that intelligent of a thought process. If you don't think that Deloss and the other powers at UT do not realize what an unmitigated disaster this has been, you must not know Deloss that well. WE may not like some of his decisions, but to say he is not an smart man is not that bright.

Let's just hope we have LHN soon. My bet would be an announcement just prior to the start of the season.
