A look at all the high character kids transferring to Baylor

"taking chances" by opening your program to players that have been kicked out of other programs is pretty damn close to winning at all costs.

We are talking about the transfer of three players in one offseason who were kicked out of their respective programs. Kind of alarming, IMO.

It's not alarming to a troll like Cutlip.

BU has a chance to be Miami West.

Briles is a POS - sort of like Switzer reborn.

  • Not to overstate the obvious however College Football in many instances is win at all costs. Baylor is no different than the rest of the schools out there. This is big business and all about money to the Universities. Not just Baylor, all of them.I have no problem with what they are doing. If the player does not pan out then I would suspect attrition will happen at that point.

So schools shouldn't take players that will help them win games?

Coach not saying that but I don't like it when some people might say its a "ministry"............let call it what it is.........

To play devils advocate for sake of debate, I'll say arent sinners allowed in church. Isn'tforgiveness a tenant of religion?

If they couldn't go to church then I could never enter!

Briles has now taking a few in the last 2 months that have a record that would make John Gotti blush.

While I generally support your thesis, you did allow hyperbole to get the best of you here.

Are you putting other students on campus at risk by doing so?

Are you putting other teammates at risk of a darius white type situation? Are you exposing them to other bad influences?

You are arguing about a school which pretty recently had a MURDER involving 2 of their student athletes, and now they are pulling this crap!?

The administration is turning a blind eye to it and it bit them last time. Let's see what happens this time..rant

Are you comparing being involved with WillLyles having a drinking issue and getting into a fight with Carlton Dotson?

  • What I am implying is that if you don't draw the line, you are asking for more trouble. You choose the innocent examples, but there are other more nefarious ones as well.. Especially on the hoops team..

Bringing character issue players into a program is a ticking bomb. Don't know when it will happen or if any of these transfers will be involved, but it will happen.

The last Baylor program that did this wound up with one player murdered and his teammate in prison. It wasn't that long ago.

True, but in church, they don't just allow sinners in that can bench 250 pounds and/or run a 4.5, either. That's my problem with using that line, and I assume it's austinr's, too. If some accounting major from Michigan tried to transfer into Baylor with four arrests, including two DUIs and two periods of time in jail/prison, my educated guess is the admissions office wouldn't be so welcoming.

I agree that character and chemistry is a big issue and believe that you need to have high character guys. Im not aware of other troubles involving the football team besides your somewhat "common" marijuana one last year.

I'll also say that as I'm a fan of Baylor Bball I was not a fan of how Drew handled Lacedarious Dunn a couple years back.

True. But I'm also pretty sure people on this site wouldnt care either if an accounting major wanted to transfer. It's all about winning games, never denied that.

I didn't stop rooting for Texas when they recruited Brandon Collins and all his baggage. Or when Robert Joseph and Andre Jones robbed an apartment or when Sergio Kindle "fell asleep at the wheel" and took out an apartment then fled the scene. Nor when he and Lamar Houston got DUIs. Or when Kenny Vacarro beat up a kid. Did you?

    ^^^^ yep, let he who is without . . . .
