What issues did they have? Any proof?
These dipshits Briles welcomes have criminal records easy to look up. And did enough to get kicked out of school. Which means there are 2 or 3 other offenses the kids had that didn't get reported.
Mack never takes kids with records. Otherwise Derry and Bobino wouldn't be playing LB from 2006 to 2007, Duncan and Collins would be.
I challenge you to find one player Mack has taken in his 13 years at Texas with a criminal issue that is supported by a valid news article or public record. Art Briles, whose Stephenville outfit passed out more steroids tha Nebraska did in '94, has taken multiple kids in the last 12 months with demonstrable criminal records

Again, please post an article or publIc record issued before Texas accepted an athlete evidencing criminal activity. The best you have is an article from a few years ago that was written a couple years after we took on Joseph stating we didn't know about Joseph's past? And then Joseph was kicked out. Nice work there.
Briles has now taking a few in the last 2 months that have a record that would make John Gotti blush.

Its all about winning games. Briles is taking kids who can help him win just like every other coach in America. What if they go thru their career at Baylor and dont have any problems? Still a bad take? Im not sure about other incidents involving football players at BU, but i know he kicked Josh Gordon off the team last year for issues involving drugs so lets not act like hes Barry Switzer.

Let's not change history here. He didn't kick Gordon off the team despite it being his second marijuana arrest. He was suspended indefinitely early in fall camp. Rather than wait out the suspension, Gordon transferred voluntarily. Briles did kick off Willie Jefferson, but he wasn't a big contributor.

You know in all honesty I'm not worried. It's mainly because I don't think about that stuff. Now that being said I wouldn't want these guys to assault women or rob people at gun point or any other of a litany of things. I just want to sit down on the weekend and watch Baylor or Texas win football games. For my own selfish reasons that what I care about. And if these kids can do that I'm fine with it.
I'm not sure what kind of kids these are. Good, bad or other. I will say that I don't think Briles is a win at all cost kinda guy. But I know just as much about a coach at a school as most fans. Although I have met Briles a few times and he comes off as a likable guy. I have no idea what goes on behind the curtain.
My other thought is that I don't think its a bad thing that these kids are getting a fresh start somewhere new. I know I made plenty of mistakes in college and definitely learned the hard way from them but I also was given an opportunity to get my life on track. Would you like every person who comes into your program to be a hybrid of Colt McCoy and RG3, absolutely but that's rarely the case.
Now I dont know these kids from Adam. But in Stonums case he obviously has a problem with booze like a lot of people. And imo Seastrunk obviously made a mistake with Lyles but other than that i hadn't heard he was any trouble. Dont know about any of the other guys.
Also I believe that Baylor, to compete with the big boys needs to take chances on kids. Schools like Texas don't need to.

I can say this because my son will be a senior next year at Baylor. The vast majority of kids at Baylor are good kids. I've met most of my sons frat brothers and other friends and they are solid kids. But when you look at the athletes (my son agrees) they are thugs for the most part. (especially the basketball players) The administration has chosen to ignore what is going on in the athletic department. 2 years ago the best basketball player broke his girlfriends jaw..........the administration gave him about 5 games suspension vs weak non-conference teams. Scott Drew and his staff made hundred's of phone calls to recruits not permitted by the NCAA yet the Baylor fans I know said well the calls would be OK in a few months and everybody does it we just got caught. They have a win at all cost mentality and its only going to get worse because they've tasted success and don't want to go back to the bad ole days. (plus they have to pay for a new stadium)

This might have more to do with the fact that this is a faith-based university which, within it's Christian beliefs, are significant stances on forgiveness, second chances, and helping out their fellow man.
I don't think what they're doing is out of line although it appears that the grace in question is directed specifically at good football players. Then again, maybe we hear about them only because they're in football.
