21 Shades Of Gray-TIM DUNCAN is The Most Successful Player of

Not surprised at the downvote but the truth is the truth. If Duncan wins this year then it becomes arguable. And I could careless about an athletes personal life.

So you'd be okay if UT had a bunch of thugs (not like we haven't had issues already) off of the field/court?

No organization is perfect and there was only one human being that was perfect. There are exceptions to every situation.

The Patriots are the most successful NFL team in the last 12 years..........they are/were built around Tom Brady, Tedy Bruschi, Deion Branch, Matt Light,Mike Vrabel. The Steelers are a great franchise also because the vast majority of players and coaches are class acts.

The Spurs were built around David Robinson, Tim Duncan, Avery Johnson, Manu Ginobili etc. You can take 1 or 2 bad actors if the leaders and majority of the team are good character people. You don't build around bad characters and have the attitude "just win baby". Al Davis and Jerry Jones have shown us that doesn't work. The Lakers success is the exception not the rule.

As usual you missed the point completely..................

    Sure thing

A bunch of "thugs" won us a championship trophy in 2005. A bunch of model citizens got us to 5-7. A bunch of "thugs" will get us back to the promise land.

It's amazing how the SEC has won all these titles with the choir boys on their teams especially Alabama. I can't recall if there been any issues with their players off the field.

Do you really believe one of the most famous NBA players of all time had to "rape" a hotel worker lol?. Give me a break.

Kobe and Ben Roethlisberger should share a cell for the next 15-20 years

    +1.

Duncan is a HOF unquestioned, but this one goes to Kobe. Also I think KD is better than Lebron and will win multiple titles to succeed Bryant as greatest of his Generation.

Overused phrase IMO. Thanks for the valuable addition to the thread though.

That was actually a buddy of mine who made both of the posts in this thread from my account, but I don't think I disagree with him considering the circumstances of that accusation (and I can't stand Kobe).

To get back on topic, I don't really care what the person is like off the court. As much as it pains me to say, I'd give the nod to Kobe because he's got more accolades. It's a narrow margin, but I don't see how you can give it anybody else at this point.

  • Duncan is number 1 at his position all time, Kobe is not. Not to mention Kobe is a dick so it's a clear choice, Tim!

  • I dont even see how you can compare Kobe and Duncan as they play two totally different positions. In a game of one on one Kobe would score on Duncan on the outside and Duncan would just post Kobe up and score on him on the inside. Kobe is the best perimeter player and Duncan is the pas post player of the era. But all the Kobe talk these guys play in a totally different era then In the past where the offense rules. Defenders these days can't even breathe on the offens player without getting a foul call. Does not matter how great those two players are they should have an asterisk by there names when being compared to great players in the past.
