Waking Thoughts

Been saying it for weeks, but we need to get Des Harrison in the worst way, and we need Estelle to arrive a year ahead of expectations (2013) in order to upgrade the OL. That will allow Hawkins to slide in to where he belongs (OG), and possibly Hopkins slide over to Center. RG will be a problem until Riser is ready to take over.

The group of Darius James, Kent Perkins, Raulerson / Billings, Cam Hughes, Estelle, D.Knox, C.Riser, Des Harrison give a lot of hope for the future, but that future needs to be accelerated into 2013, even if prematurely.

We've seen 2+ seasons with Walters, Cochran, Espinosa, and Hopkins as a starting unit (with Poehlman as the #1 reserve). We can't stick with this core group for a third straight year in 2013 and expect different results. Definition of insanity applies here.

Time for a new, albeit green, cohort to step in. Give me Harrison, Estelle, and Riser and let the chips fall where they may. Even if we're on the learning curve at OL in 2013, at least we'll turn the corner for 2014 and be really salty going forward.

Now, do I think Mack will allow these changes? Of course not.
