  • The D.D. Lewis interview is a must-listen. Hearing former players talk about the Texas/OU rivalry is always great, but he really gave some great insight into the mentality needed to be successful in that game and in football in general.

  • Jeff Howe

D.D. Lewis -- another former Longhorn who told me the Super Bowl doesn't compare to Texas-OU.

  • After the past couple interviews we have had with former Longhorn players I got the idea to set up a special Texas/OU episode showcasing the players' stories about playing in the rivalry. We are going to get as many players as we can to participate,. I'm thinking we can have at least 10-15 guys tell their story, or take on the rivalry, and I want to post it as a special Red River Rivalry episode around game week.

Also, we will be having Leonard Davis on the show next week.

  • Jeff and Rod had some good info from NFL scouts on where they are hearing Vaccaro, Okafor and Goodwin will go in the draft later this week. Rod had some really good insight he shared from being a former player and he shared his draft day story. The draft discussion starts aroung the 14-minute mark and Rod shares his draft day story around the 26-minute mark.

  • It was great to hear D.D. explain the process of becoming an eight year NFL veteran who played in Super Bowl XL after going undrafted out of Texas. Good timing considering it is draft week.

The second we mentioned Super Bowl XL he said that he felt they should have won that game. I couldn't imagine how angry I would be if I played in a game of that magnitude and the outcome was possibly, and even most likely, decided by the refs. Great interview.
